These slatted, reclaimed board looking, photo holders, with plexiglass, were shared in my thrifted April finds post HERE. I wiped them off and removed the plexiglass and the hardware holding the plexiglass.
I purchased this rustic half section of a barn door at our local antiques shop on Crazy Daze for $13. I thought it would be the start of a fun fall outdoor DIY decor piece.
I found this Jennifer Garner child's wall art easel at a thrift shop in Elk River, Minnesota. It was priced at $2.99, and of course, I gave it a makeover.
This rustic pallet @ sign was one of my April Goodwill Finds . The raised wooden @ sign was both nailed and glued onto the pallet wood. After it was pried off, I sanded off a bit of the glue residue left on the wood. Then I was good to go with a new sign.
I found two pieces of scrap wood in the garage. One piece was 1" x 6" x 16 1/2" and the other 1" x 6" x 19". The boards were attached to each other using two Zinc Plated Steel Mending Braces , and I didn't center the boards. One was longer on top and one was longer on the bottom.
I picked up this window screen at a local antique and consignment shop for $6. I have had good luck with window screen projects before, so I decided to give this one a try.
I picked up this old, plain, wood crate at a local antiques/consignment shop for $12. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I had no qualms about painting it because it was so plain.
I don't stencil on boards all that often. Normally, I stencil on garage sale or thrifted finds, but this project started out as a six foot pine board from Menard's, cut to a 36" x 7" sign.
2012 Today, I am sharing front yard border photos from the last nine blog years. Some years have subtle changes, but I try most years to change up the junk and some of the flowers too.
The red border (Asiatic) lilies are blooming! I purchased these lilies at the Littlefork Citywide Garage Sales a few years ago. Last year, deer wiped out almost all of my lilies before they bloomed. Below are more pics of the front yard border! It's already looking great!
I really like these box type signs. I found this one at a Goodwill in the Twin Cities. This is the back side. I also found this vintage coffee mill plaque at Goodwill. Both finds received a makeover!
Wow! Did Minnesota ever get a pile of snow this month. My husband hasn't snow-blowed a path to my shed, so I was limited on junk to upcycle or repurpose. This week I found this fish shaped wooden, fishing rod holder at the thrift shop for $3. Of course, it received a makeover.
Thrift shops are full of old frames with faded art inside them. I removed the faded print from the frame. (You can see around the edges the print's original coloring.)
