Organized Clutter

I found this long, skinny, wooden, hinged box at our local thrift shop last week.  I paid $3 for it. I think it must have been a pencil box or paint brush box, maybe?  The glossy red paint was in very chippy condition. I pick up inexpensive enamelware at garage sales and thrift shops all the time.  I find most of my enamelware for $5 to $10, sometimes less. Some are reproduction enamelware.  Pieces in excellent condition will not get drainage holes, but instead, become inside pieces.  Buying ceramic or terracotta flowerpots would be more expensive and would pose a winter storage hassle.  Enamelware works great for both indoor and outdoor planters, holiday decor, and farmhouse kitchens.

I purchased two 6" x 8" and one 8" x 10" art canvases at our local Dollar Tree. I used them to create easy botanical wall art!

Here is an assortment of older blog projects and newer ones. Let's talk old suitcases! I scoop them up when they are clean inside and have a reasonable price.   I spray painted the one above with  Rustoleum Painters Touch Flat Black Spray Paint  and decorated it with   Redesign With Prima's Somewhere In France Transfer. I rescued these food jars from my recycling bins.  Not very exciting jars:  Salsas, Alfredo & Marinara sauces, Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing. The Thrift Store Decor Team is celebrating Earth Day with projects from the recycling bin today.  Scroll on down to join the fun!

I found this wall envelope a while back in the Target Dollar Spot area, with the intention of giving it a makeover. Scroll on down to see the whole project along with an easy Easter project too!

I found these vintage   luggage look covered boxes at the Dollar Tree . I thought they were pretty cute!  I gave them an easy upgrade below to make them even better.

I found this little wooden, unfinished, hinged stool at Goodwill on a February trip to the Twin Cities. I love hinged boxes and this little stool was perfect for a display makeover as well.

I love old coffee pots. This is an old aluminum one that I picked up thrifting. It was missing the insides. I gave it a makeover and a new purpose below.  Also below is the March Thrift Store Decor Team 's monthly blog party. Keep on scrolling for more thrifted inspiration.

This wooden hinged box was a great Goodwill find. I paid $5.99 for it in the Twin Cities.  It's a perfect find for a makeover.

I love to decorate old books!   Here I painted a thrifted book with  Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Daisy.

Way back in 2014, I found this old cabinet door frame and turned it into fun covered patio wall art. Recently, I gave the cabinet door a new look!  Read on below.

I am so excited to share my project feature in the latest issue of Flea Market Home & Living Magazine. This is the second time I have had a feature in this fun magazine.

This is a photo of a vintage wooden Stanley level I found during the Littlefork, Minnesota, citywide garage sales last summer.

I actually saw some of these vintage card files at a local consignment shop a while back, but didn't know what to do with them at first. Then an idea came to me. The metal files are from the county courthouse.

I found this little bright yellow wooden bench at our local thrift shop. It is faux distressed, and also has some real distressing as well.

  You know how I love digging through the Target Bullseye Playground bins at the front of the store.  I found these stackable condiment bowls at the Bemidji  Target recently for $5. I am not saving them for condiments however!

 I found a package of wooden wood floral appliques at Hobby Lobby   recently. I used them on a new book stack project.
