22 Button Jar Decorating & Crafting Ideas

February 13, 2024
My mom and both of my grandmas were button collectors. Besides inheriting some of their buttons, I have purchased my own cards and jars of buttons. Over the last 10+ years, I have used buttons for both decorating and crafting.  Take a look.

Snowflake Button & Mini Canvas Christmas Tree Ornaments

November 27, 2019
This is a 2.5" x 2.5"  black mini canvas.  I purchased several of them at  Walmart Canada.   They were available in the store in both black and white.   This project would also work with a 3" x 3" mini canvas painted black. I also used 6 snowflake buttons from Dress It Up.   Three of one style and three of another, and one tan or light brown round button.

Semi-Homemade Christmas Tree Truck Ornaments

October 18, 2019
I live in a small town.  Our Kmart is closing in December.  No Target and no Walmart.  No Hobby Lobby, Joann Fabrics or Michael's either.  All major chain stores are at least 100 miles away. I have been trying to shop at our local Dollar Tree or Dollar General more often.  We have a Family Dollar too but so far I haven't found anything there. The truck Christmas tree ornaments are from Dollar General.  There are kinda cute for $1.

Easy DIY Framed Buffalo Check Minnesota State Pride Signs

October 29, 2018
Last week I purchased a yard of green and black buffalo check flannel at our local craft store.  I actually wanted red and black checks, but they said it was back ordered, and hard to get.  (I think buffalo checks are popular again this Christmas). I found Ragon House wired red and black flannel ribbon at a local drug store. I am going to do some crafting with this buffalo checked flannel and a couple of 4" x 6" rustic black picture frames.

Button Easter Eggs

February 16, 2014
I have a large stash of old buttons, mostly from my mother. A couple of years ago, I was inspired by photos on Pinterest to make some button Easter eggs.  (Parts of this post first appeared appeared March 11, 2012). I initially planned to try a framed button egg.
