Upcycled Vintage Suitcase With A French Twist

July 22, 2021
I shared this old suitcase in a June post on recent finds  HERE. I paid $2 for it at a garage sale.  It's a vintage cardboard suitcase marked T & S Worcester.  It's a little beat up but not dirty inside.  I am going to give it a makeover!

Goodwill Pie Basket Repurposed as a Side Table

July 13, 2020

I wanted to give this picnic basket a French vibe, so I pulled out one of my  *Old Sign Stencils Grain Sack Stripe stencils,  G1. Click on the link above to order stencils, or to browse the whole stencil catalog.  Be advised that all prices are listed in Canadian funds, and all American funds will be converted at a premium. * Old Sign Stencils has  provided me with complimentary samples.  A...

French Upcycle of a Garage Sale Breadbox

April 13, 2020
I purchased this $2 wooden breadbox at a garage sale last summer!  The breadbox was included in my June finds blog post HERE. I sanded the finish lightly with 220 grit sandpaper.  (I didn't do a thorough sanding, just enough to rough up the shiny finish a bit) Then I washed the breadbox with hot soapy Dawn Dish Soap and a rag.

Goodwill Picnic Basket French Style Upcycle

This unfinished picnic basket is one of my Goodwill Black Friday finds in the Twin Cities. It was in great condition! It had a little shelf inside to create two layers in the picnic basket. (Update: A reader informed me that this is a pie basket. I didn't know!)

This vintage chair was part of my  November finds post. I liked the lines on the chair, even though spindles are a pain in the butt to paint!
