Organized Clutter

The wooden basket on the left was found at a garage sale, and the miniature sled at Goodwill. Each cost $4.  I transformed the items with paint, stencils, napkin decoupage!

  I recently decorated my covered patio for fall inspired by old wheels, like this one.

Today I'm sharing a large room (16 1/2' x 22 1/2')  in my home that is a combination den and guest room . The room is perfect for visitors with pets or kids as the furniture is older, painted, slipcovered but in pretty decent shape. It's sort of farmhouse style, and is decorated with a lot of my blog projects and vintage thrift store finds. I recently purchased the 8' x 10' area rug on Wayfair for under $100.  It's an indoor/outdoor rug that is easy to clean. It was my first Wayfair order ever!

I found this wooden red sled recently for $4 at a local consignment shop. I think it was probably stenciled back in the 1980's or early 90's by the font used.

  I found this primitive country wooden canister set at Goodwill about a year ago. It is a nesting set, so the smaller ones can be stored inside the larger one.  The bottom has a tag that says "For decorative use only", so food can not be placed directly inside the boxes.

  Back in March, I created this Boho style stenciled planter box with Goodwill finds, chalk paint, and a mudcloth stencil  HERE. I actually liked the finished project but I was unable to sell it at our local consignment store so I decided to give it another makeover!

I found this wooden chest last fall at a Goodwill in the Twin Cities. I think I paid $14.99. It appears to be be a homemade chest in very good condition.

This wooden and metal sleigh Christmas decoration was thrifted by my mom several years ago. I decided to give it a makeover!

  I recently purchased the chip basket, DIY frame, and wood riser at Target's Bullseye Playground at the front store bins.  Everything in the bins is $5 or less.

I purchased a tiny Norfolk Pine at Christmas time several years ago.  It was only about 4" tall. (A Norfolk Pine is not really a pine tree, by the way) I kept the Norfolk Pine alive after Christmas, and eventually transplanted it into a bigger, but plain, plastic pot.  It has grown quite a bit, and spends its summers on my covered patio.

I love to decorate old books!   Here I painted a thrifted book with  Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Daisy.

Today's the day I reveal my Sunflower Farm themed covered patio for 2022. The above upcycled projects (and a few more) are part of my patio decor. 

Back in 2017, I repurposed this old barn door section into a planter box/farmhouse sign.   The stenciling had gotten fainter in the sun and elements, and instead of re-stenciling farmhouse , I decided to change it up a bit.

Last Saturday I found this rustic little metal and wood stepstool at a garage sale.   I had big plans for it in the garden ! Scroll on down to the bottom of this post beyond my project,  because it's the Thrift Store Decor Team's June Party!

  My son got a new mailbox and gave me the old black one.  It's not super old, but I had an idea I wanted to try. See what I did with it below.

I made this rustic board mandala sign a few years back. Today I gave it a farmhouse makeover.

I found this little bright yellow wooden bench at our local thrift shop. It is faux distressed, and also has some real distressing as well.
