Organized Clutter

I found this  Graphics Fairy honey bee  vintage graphic and printed it in the center of an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet on paper on my inkjet printer.  (I had to play with my printer's settings for size and centering). I used this bee and a songbook page in my latest project!

My aunt gave me this little wooden candy box.  She wondered if I could make something out of it.

This midcentury wooden tray was found in late 2021 at Goodwill. I love these little vintage trays. I also like the similar pedestal bowls too.

I love rummaging through the T arget Bullseye Playground bins at the front of the Target stores, especially at Christmastime.  Most of the stuff is under $5. I picked up this faux cutting board riser recently. I have made a few of these from real thrift shop cutting boards in the past. The target riser is made from MDF with a thin coat of veneer.  So it's meant for decorative use only. I also picked up this small metal white truck in the Target bins.   Both will get Christmas makeovers!

  My fall craft project started with two round craft boxes with lids from Dollar Tree. The boxes were just $1 each.

  Old drawers are not that plentiful in my small town.  We don't have a ReStore or salvage type store.   I find them at consignment and thrift shops mostly, and not often. Here are 14 of my favorite drawer projects.

    Dollar Tree now has rub on transfers too! I had an idea for this fashion themed page of transfers.

 I purchased this vintage ice cream chair a long time ago at an auction. I painted the iron parts with Rustoleum Heirloom White Paint.

This wood vase was one of my Goodwill finds from the Twin Cities.   It's in good condition but just not my style.

 This little tart pan and wooden goblet were recent thrift shop finds.  This metal pig was a Christmas tree ornament from Hobby Lobby in 2019. I removed the jute from the hooks on back and drilled a small hole in the top back of the pig.   My aunt gave me several packages of wooden bead in several sizes.  I used 1/2" and 1" for the projects I am sharing.

I paid $1 for this small, old washboard at a garage sale last fall. I think it had been used with Rit dye as there were several red stains on the wood, and the metal was pretty rusty.

I found this wooden bottle caddy at Goodwill over Christmastime.  I knew I would never use it as a stadium style bottle carrier, so it needed a makeover.

Dollar General is carrying these jar wall sign decorations again this spring.

I picked up this metal milk can shaped vase at a  Twin Cities Goodwill on Black Friday.   Everything was 50% off.   I did a little more research on the vase and found it was an Ikea Socker Vase.  It is no longer a current item, but is available online in the secondary market.

This tray was part of my  November Junk Finds post. I purchased it on Black Friday at a Twin Cities Goodwill.

 This little green vintage metal toolbox was one of my  November Thrifted Finds HERE. I wiped the toolbox down with hot, soapy, Dawn Dish Soap water and a rag, and brushed on a coat of Polycrylic Protective Finish in Matte.   The poly will seal any rust spots before the makeover.

 I paid $1 at a garage sale for this wooden recipe box.  It held a lot of recipe cards at one time. Since I won't be using it for recipe cards, it's time for a Christmas makeover.

 I have a thing for vintage hangers.  Especially wooden ones, but wire ones too. I found these mini 3" x 4" wire craft hangers at our local hobby and crafts shop.  They were $1.19 each.   Darice bulk pack hangers  are available on Amazon.

 I live in a small northern Minnesota town with a small independent craft and hobby shop, a Kmart that's about to close (forever), a large Menard's home improvement store, a Dollar Tree, and a Dollar General.  We also have a Family Dollar but I seldom shop there.  Most of the chain stores are at least one hundred miles away. Most of my local shopping is done at thrift shops, consignment shops, or garage sales.  My blog is supply driven.  I find something , and then find something to do with it.  My cousin gave me several 2 1/2" grapevine wreaths like the one above.  They still had the price tags on them for 20 cents each. 

My cousin gave me 5 silver plated teaspoons, AND, 4 of these teapot ceramic spoon ornaments. Both received an upcycle and/or repurpose as Christmas tree ornaments.
