A Vintage Folding Chair Upcycle with OLD SIGN STENCILS

I purchased this vintage folding chair recently at a consignment shop for $7.

Packing Tape Image Transfer on a Thrift Shop Jar

I purchased this jar recently at the thrift shop for $6.  It is about 10 1/2" tall, has a metal cover, and appears to be vintage.

Fun and Easy Rummage Sale Frame Upcycle

This is one of the frames I purchased last Friday at the church rummage sale for a quarter.

Most Recent Rummage Sales and Thrift Shop Purchases

I live in northern Minnesota so garage sale season is not really in full swing yet.  I stopped after work  on Friday at a church rummage sale.  It had already been in progress for at least an hour so it probably was pretty picked over, but here is what I got for $2.

An old rake.  I have seen these on Pinterest as Christmas trees and wreaths.  I hope I can upcycle and/or repurpose it into a fun new item!

Re-Purposed Thrift Shop Kitchen Grater Photo/Recipe Card Stand

This $1 thrift shop grater, wood corner brace, and metal label holder are key components in my re-purposing project today.

Re-Purposed Chair Back Flowerpot Holder

I got two of these broken chair backs from My Junkin' Friend Jodi.

Vintage Sewing Drawer Up-cycle with Fusion Mineral Paint

I love old sewing machine drawers.  I picked this one up at a consignment shop for $5.

A Re-Purposed Chair Back Photo Hanger

I have a few more free chair backs from my Junkin' Friend Jodi.

Re-Purposed Chair Back Photo Holder

My project today started out with this old chair that I got for free from my awesome "Junkin' Friend Jodi".

A New Accent Color for my House

This is a photo from the Century 21 listing for my house when I purchased it, back in 1989.  It had brown shingles, new steel siding in "Wedgwood" blue, and white trim and shutters.  (Also very overgrown shrubs that I soon removed!)

Fast forward to 2013, the roof has been changed to three tab "weathered wood" shingles, a terracotta accent color was painted on shutters and doors, and all new flower beds and foundation plantings were added.  I chose a terracotta accent color,  because "when I don't plant in junk, I choose terracotta pots"!

Let's Kick Off Junk Gardening 2015!

Homemade Clothes Rack For Garden Pails www.organizedclutter.net
Let's kick off "Junk Gardening 2015" with some of my recent finds.  This item wasn't exactly cheap.  I paid $29 for it at a consignment shop, but think of the possibilities.  It's made out of welded pipe and is not tippy at all.

Thrifted and Garage Sale Items in a Coffee Table Vignette

The first half of my coffee table vignette begins with this vintage wooden basket purchased at the thrift shop for $1.

From the bottom, it appears to have had a pedestal base at one time that is now gone.

Thrift Shop Candle Holder Upcycle

One big "no-no" when you are a blogger is not taking a "before" photo of your project.  One day while painting a crib rail, clothespins and thrift shop candle holders, I missed taking a before photo of  the wooden candle holders.

My project began with these three dark wood tone candle holders from multiple trips thrifting.

Vintage Clothes Hanger Re-purpose

Now that my children's grad photos are displayed in barn wood frames, I was no longer using this 8" x 10" wooden frame.  I had painted this frame, a while back, with Rustoleum American Accents Paint in "Heirloom White".

For my new project, I re-painted the frame with a black flat paint.

Re-purposed Garage Sale Pizza Peel & Other Re-Purposed Cutting Boards

A couple weeks ago I purchased this pizza peel or board at a neighborhood garage sale.  I paid $2 for it.

Re-Purposed Thrift Shop Mug Stand

I purchased this mug tree or stand at the thrift shop last week for $2.
