Re-Purposed Chair Back Flowerpot Holder
April 23, 2015
I got two of these broken chair backs from My Junkin' Friend Jodi.
The spindles were sawed off both of them, and I painted one with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Old White". The second one I painted with a gray satin Pittsburgh Paint sample that I had on hand.
Details for the photo holder can be found here.
After I distressed the gray chair back, I added three hose clamps with screws to the chair back board. I also added the hook from a wooden hanger to the top. I started a hole in the center top with the drill, and then the partially threaded hanger hook simply twisted in.
Then, I added three rustic terracotta flowerpots I purchased at a floral shop. They have a faux aged finish. I added faux succulents to the outer, smaller pots, and leafy faux plant to the center pot.
I will probably add live plants to the pots as soon as the weather warms up here in northern Minnesota.
I love these chair back projects! Easy and fun!

Carlene I haven't been following you for very long but you amaze me, you are so creative! You come up with such awesome creations from things others consider trash and would normally pass up. I don't know how many broken chairs and things I pass by that's sitting in someone's trash thinking should I get it or not then decide not because I can't think of what I could do with it. I wish I had the creative eye that you apparently have (-;
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Carlene!!
