Kitchen Christmas Shadow Box

December 04, 2012
I just finished up Christmas decorating in the kitchen.

This shadow box was red last Christmas. I painted black earlier this year.

I purchased four vintage Santa mugs at the consignment shop for $3 for all in November.

A red vintage nut chopper is on the left and two Lefton angels from the 1970's are on the right.

These red and green bells are not vintage, just fill in the short shelf. Below is a vintage toy angel food cake pan with miniature ornaments, and two vintage, made in Japan, salt and pepper shaker angels. Also the fourth Santa mug.

This is a vintage look snowman that I purchased this season with another vintage nut chopper.

The Santa and Mrs. Claus are vintage salt and pepper shakers. The couple in the right middle shelves are vintage bells.

The framed button snowman I crafted this year is displayed in another black cubby in the kitchen with the metal tree.

This round reproduction vintage look bowl is filled with faux apples and glass ornaments.

I like the light green and with Christmas red,

And I love a vintage Christmas.

  30. Carlene, your shadow box looks darling with those vintage Christmas treasures. We had Santa mugs when we were children. My sister has all of them now. They look cute holding the peppermint sticks.

  32. Hi Carlene,
I love your wonder filled Christmas arrangements. I am partial to peppermint sticks and candy canes. Your little Santas look so content holding them. I have a nut chopped just like your older red one. It even has a decal on it. It belonged to my Mother.
    Merry Merry Christmas!

  33. What a great way to display more Christmas goodies! I will be on the lookout at my local thrift stores for a display box like that. I too have a nut grinder exactly like yours. I used to display it in my red and white and gold cottage Kitchen but it is now stored away since my new homes Kitchen is more Tuscan. I will have to dig it up for Christmas display! Great idea!
    Blessings,
    Adrienne
