I love to decorate old books!
Here I painted a thrifted book with Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Daisy.

This book was painted with Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Hurricane Gray.
The above is a new Botanical Flowers and Plants Stencil from Old Sign Stencils. This is my first project using it, but I can foresee adding these stencils to my buckets, pots, and watering cans too!

Here I taped the "Flowers, Growing Guide" stencil to the top of the yellow book.
I swirled on the stencil using Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash. I added A Grower's Guide to the book spine as well.
I found this FolkArt Decor transfer package at a Joann Fabrics store last year.
I chose the watering can design, with sunflowers, from one of the three transfer sheets.
I rubbed it on with a rectangular wooden stick.
I swirled the "Plants, Vol 1" stencil onto the gray book, and "Vol 1" to the spine.
I pulled out these Redesign with Prima Greenery House small transfers purchased at Maikas Daughters (online). I used this transfer before on a thrifted box makeover HERE.
I changed my mind and sanded the gray book title down with a piece of 220 grit sandpaper. I repainted that spot with my gray paint. The new off white lettering popped on the darker gray book much better than the charcoal color.
I then waxed both books with Dixie Belle's Best Dang Wax in Clear.

These two books fit perfectly in the pallet shelf hanging on the wall under my covered patio.
