A Garage Sale and Thrift Shop Finds Update

October 24, 2019
Garage sales are pretty much done for the season here in Minnesota.  Here are some of my later season garage sale and thrift shop finds.

A wooden calendar with hand painted months and days.  My first thought was to use it as a Church sign for hymns.  Not sure yet, but it's a fun find.  $9.99 at Goodwill.

$10 local thrift shop stool with rush seat.  Sturdy.

A little "too cutesy" with the hearts.  It will get a makeover!

$3 wood and metal kitchen recipe holder.

This has possibilities as a photo holder as well.  (Not many recipes on cards anymore.)  A makeover/re-purpose coming!

A $2 find at the thrift shop.

An already re-purposed shelf/tray made from yardsticks.

It had two holes on the bottom.  Maybe a shadowbox.

This could be used "as is".

Garage sale set of three vintage cherries on stripes metal canisters.

They are in excellent condition.  Not rusty, but a few small dings.  They seller knew they were in great shape.  I paid $12.

An enamelware red and white pot without lid on the garage sale free table!

A rather rare flour sifter from Occident.  The little measuring cup with red wooden handle was free.

I paid $10 for the sifter!

25 cents a piece for the Eiffel Towers in metal.

I'd say the sellers took a trip to Paris in the past and brought home a souvenir.

 One was a pencil sharpener.

A small washboard for $1 at a garage sale.

It almost seems like the washboard has Rit dye stains on it.  I may paint it.

From Goodwill, a very well made oak Lazy Susan.

 I paid $6.99.

Small rolling pin from a local thrift shop with black handles.  $2.

A garage sale mustard colored window!  $1 at a garage sale.

An Ansco Cadet camera from about 1960, 127 size film. 50 cents at a garage sale.

Another 127 film size vintage camera, a Mar-crest.  75 cents.

And last but not least, a vintage Kodak Tourist folding camera for $5 at a garage sale.

Adding these to a small collection of older cameras that I use for decorating and staging.

I hope that you enjoy seeing my finds.

  1. My heart stopped when I saw the cherries canister set. Really hoping they don't get a makeover.
