A New Look For An Old Garden Junk Favorite

May 18, 2016
This techno-heat lobelia planted in a small galvanized pail, hanging with wire inside a square, weathered gray frame from a limb of a birch tree was one of my most popular blog posts ever.  More on a Techno-Heat Lobelia here.

What I Found Thrifting & Garage Sale-ing!

April 30, 2016
I am so happy that once again the garage sale season has kicked off and thrift shop inventory has picked up as well.  The following items will be probably be appearing on my blog in the coming weeks or months with a makeover or in my decor. A vintage highly carved glove box.  There was a pair of purple ladies dress gloves inside but I think the box is older than the gloves.  I won't be painting this.  Maybe just a little clean up and hemp oil for to bring out the wood grain.

The EASIEST Thrift Shop Re-purpose EVER!

April 19, 2016
A thrift shopping trip earlier this year netted this one Demco retro deco style metal bookend from the 1970's.  This before pic was quite blurry in my dark laundry room.  The color is beige.    I had purchased my first can of Krylon Chalky Spray Paint in Colonial Ivory and this was a good opportunity to try it out.

From Spring Junk Yard to Summer Junk Garden

April 17, 2016
Spring comes late to northern Minnesota.  Our snow was gone early this season, but the temps had been cold until the end of last week when we finally got a taste of the 70's.   My husband and I raked our lawn on Saturday, and I dug in my flower beds a bit, and as usual, I was mortified.   My junk yard looks so awful before the green grass, summer foliage and blooming annuals and perennials fill in around my junk, and the transformation from junk yard to junk garden occurs. Here are some examples: Today - Junk Yard
