Thrift Store Wooden Candle Sconce Repurpose

Wooden candle sconces are usually readily available at garage sales and thrift stores. I sometimes pick them up.

Besides the sconce, I had another thrifted find, a small plaque. I run across these frequently as well.
I removed the plaque hanger and screwed the little plaque onto the candle sconce with two wood screws.
The screws were countersunk on top.
I painted the sconce and plaque (shelf) with a couple coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Drop Cloth.
I found this Botanical Paradise Decor Transfer on Etsy a the Serial DIYer's shop for $12.99.
I will get several projects out of this package of transfers.
I needed a skinny transfer for the skinny sconce neck.
I chose a couple of soft pink floral stems to rub onto my project with the enclosed rectangular stick.
I then waxed the project with Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear. I applied it with Precision Fiber lint free rags.
I chose a tag from the Tim Holtz Salvaged Tag pack.
I added a small pink floral transfer to the tag.

I am trying the shelf on the wall of my covered patio.
