In 2017, I purchased new furniture for my living room, including a Flexsteel Sofa and Chair and a Half.  At the time I had a white shag area rugs and the floral pillows that came with the sofa.

Read on to see how my living room looks today.

The sofa is holding up beautifully.  I have changed up the pillows.  The black pillows on each end were pillow covers I purchased at Hobby Lobby and filled with the Flexsteel floral pillow inserts. The covers were really inexpensive at 50% off.  I got both for $15.

The caramel color pillow on the left is from Target.  It is still available.  The embroidered pillow is from Kirklands.  It's on clearance now for $27.  The biggest splurge was the Pottery Barn sherpa lined throw on the back of the sofa. However, it's on clearance now too.

Old Reader's Digest condensed books from the 1950's and 60's fill the glass compartments on the front of my coffee table.

Also from Pottery Barn, the pillow cover on the chair and a half.  I had a down insert to fit it.  I love this warm color that Pottery Barn calls tobacco, along with the texture.

I recently printed some current family photos in black and white, and hung them on this wall.  The reclaimed wood frames were found at Hobby Lobby and the brass metal frames are from the Target Hearth & Hand collection.

I painted this beadboard shelf again.  This time with Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Drop Cloth.  The antique drawer front hanging above it is a $3 garage sale find.

I just love printer's trays/drawers. This one is in great condition.

My paternal grandmother left me this Husvennen vintage treadle sewing machine. I have had it in my living room ever since.

A few years ago my sewing machine was featured in a Norwegian Book HERE.  I was contacted by the author for permission to use photos.

My grandparents' vintage phone sits on the side of the sewing machine, and sitting on the treadle is my upcycled vintage artist case from a project HERE.

My engineered hardwood flooring was installed in 2015.  It has held up beautifully.  More information on my flooring HERE.

My area rug is from Capel, Montauk Natural 100% wool.

This is where I write my blog, at this desk on this laptop. Vintage items in this area include the gold picture of the lady, the framed Roosevelt Creed, my stenciled world map tray project, my vintage ceramic dog figurine collection, my repurposed egg poacher/paperclip holder, old books, my playing card holder/photo holder project, vintage air brush prints, and my neutral buffalo checked bookend project.

Just a few more upcycled projects here:  an upcycled wooden desk tray/in box and thrifted wall bin upcycle.

This vintage raisin crate display is my dining table centerpiece.

This is the dining end of my living room. The table and chairs are not vintage.  They are vintage style by Broyhill from a while ago.  I like to make my room look less formal with the addition of burlap on the tables, and with the drapes.  My drapes were purchased several years ago at Ballard Designs.

The china cabinet was owned by my maternal grandmother. It has glass on three sides.

When I switched my house to neutral colors, I restyled the china cabinet with neutrals as well.

This china cabinet houses vintage items and collections.

The top of the china cabinet has religious items, including the Infant of Prague and my small Bible collection.  My globe is rather rare with silver oceans.

The gold mirror hung in my childhood home, my mom having purchased it at an estate sale.

The piano stool under the plant is an antique with glass ball claw feet, Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep hang to the left of the cabinet, and a vintage framed "Light of the World" print hangs to the right.

My mantel and hearth are styled with more vintage items including a brass and marble armillary sphere, Red Wing crock, copper Dutch coal scuttle with yardsticks, a vintage suitcase upcycle project, a vintage stepstool, and two book shelves repurposed from sconces HERE.

The drawer plant stand project holds a spider plant.

On the mantel are vintage oil lamps, a ceramic hand mannequin, vintage dresser mirror salvage, a John F. Kennedy bank, vintage rulers in a small crock, a vintage curling iron and eyeglasses.

And of course I have a television set in the living room with a collection of vintage plates and a clock over it.
