Photo of a vintage Valentine's Day suitcase Vignette.
Boy, this old cream suitcase takes me back! Back to the beginnings of Organized Clutter, the blog.

I painted an old suitcase inside and out with Rustoleum Heirloom White PaintHeirloom White used to be my "go to" paint in the beginning, and this suitcase was the first container vignette on my blog.

The photo above is a Victorian Valentine's Day suitcase vignette with the famous Cupid Awake & Cupid Asleep Prints in oval frames, buttons, threads, pearls, gloves, a bust, and Valentine's Day pillow.

I repeated a Valentine's Day vignette in the suitcase here with another pillow, heart garland, jars of buttons, thread, a framed Valentine's Day card, a balloon, pearls, and pink roses.

I no longer decorate for Valentine's Day but here is one side an older Valentine's Day mantel.

I used one of my head vases here.

Photo of a vintage kitchen Valentine's day vignette.
This vignette sat on the over the sink shelf in the kitchen. It featured a jar of Hershey's Kisses, a vintage heart cookie cutter, a flower frog with vintage Valentines, a cupcake bath bomb in a sifter, a paper doily, and above a vintage ice cube tray shadow box with Hershey's Kisses.

This shadow box used to hang in my kitchen (where the shutter and cutting boards are now) and I decorated it for each holiday.

  1. Hard to pick a favorite from all these creative projects, Carlene. I think the ones I like best, though, are the top one with the cupid photos--I have one of these, can't remember if it's Cupid Awake or Cupid Sleeping--somewhere in my house! And the other one I really like is the button heart collage because I love buttons. I did a similar one with all white buttons once, photographed it and dumped the buttons back in the box! Maybe I'll make another one and glue the buttons down. Anyway, this was a fun post--lots of good ideas.
