More Paper Mache Box Upcycles With Dollar Tree Rub On Transfers

I really like the rub on transfers at the Dollar Tree.

This sheet has an antique-y feel to them.

This is another of my favorite transfer sheets from Dollar Tree.

These are the last two paper mache boxes I purchased at Dollar Tree.

I gave them a makeover with these transfer sheets.

First, I brushed on two coats of General Finishes Flat Out Flat Topcoat on the box bottoms. Not the covers!

I am going the keep the bottoms the brown paper bag color.

Next, I cut my transfer in pieces that fit the boxes.

I removed the white backing and carefully centered the piece on my box.

I rubbed the transfer down with my flat stick and carefully pulled the top sheet up as the rubbed on transfers stuck down.

I applied the antique-y rub on transfers to the square box.

I painted the box lids with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Drop Cloth.

I painted a 1" round wooden knob with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Caviar.

The wooden knob has one flat side with a hole, and the knob was attached to the square box lid with a screw.

This is a book that I upcycled recently with paint and rub on transfers.

Since I had extra transfers left over from the boxes, I added some to finish out the book front and spine.

I waxed the boxes with Easy Peasy Spray Wax and a rag.

I also added a metal label holder from Hobby Lobby to the square box with the brads included. The tag was printed on cardstock on an inkject printer.
