Make A Fun SNOW DAY Sign with Old Sign Stencils

November 30, 2020
I don't stencil on boards all that often.

Normally, I stencil on garage sale or thrifted finds, but this project started out as a six foot pine board from Menard's, cut to a 36" x 7" sign.

(When you click on the bold Amazon, Old Sign Stencils or Dixie Belle Paint Company affiliate links you will be taken to the products I use for this project. I painted and stenciled a new sign for my Christmas covered patio decorations using the Snow Day stencil from Old Sign Stencils.

As always, the stencil is awesome, and it will coordinate with all of my other Old Sign Stencils' Christmas projects.

All pricing and shipping amounts on the website are stated in Canadian funds, and will be converted to US funds.

*Old Sign Stencils has provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.

I brushed on two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Caviar on the board.

I stenciled the stencil's large letters using Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Drop Cloth, the snowflakes using Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Fluff,  the mitten using Fusion Mineral Paint in Bayberry, and the word day using Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint Putty.

I applied two coats of Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish in Matte to seal the paint and stencils.
