Upcycled Garage Sale Mirror and Mini Stool

September 20, 2020

This is the dark wood frame from a garage sale mirror I purchased last Saturday.

I brushed on a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Bunker Hill Blue.

This is one of my favorite Dixie Belle Paint Company's blues.

My cousin gave me this little primitive, green stool.

I painted it with Bunker Hill Blue as well.

I found this Artminds Bone Inlay Stencil at Michael's on a trip to the Twin Cities.

I placed the corner stencils on each corner of the mirror, and taped them on with blue painter's tape.

I taped the small square stencil onto the top of the stool.

I didn't think the corner stencils added enough detail, so I used the long skinny border stencil along the top, bottom and sides.  I centered the stencil, using the entire stencil along the sides and just a portion of it on the top and bottom.

I swirled on the stencils using Dixie Belle Paint in Fluff.

I waxed the stool and mirror with Dixie Belle's Big Mama's Butta using a rag.

Blue and white decor blends so well with orange fall pieces!
