Craft Shop Wood Chip Baskets Repurposed As Fall Pumpkins

Here is a fall craft idea using these baskets.

I have used Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint in Heritage for fall projects for several years now.

Luckily, I had about 2/3 of a jar left from last season because I think this color has been discontinued.

I brushed on two coats of paint using a foam brush, and sanded the baskets to distress them with 100 grit sandpaper.

These 1" wood spools, that I had on hand, worked as stems.

I rubbed Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Brown on the spools to darken them, and attached them using Titebond Original Wood Glue.

I waxed the baskets and stems with Dixie Belle Big Mama's Butta  and a fiber rag.  I then attached a fall foliage leaf from my craft stash on the basket bottom with hot glue.

The cloth tag was another find at Hobby Lobby this week.
