A Thrift Shop Photo Holder Repurposed As Farmhouse Kitchen Decor

January 24, 2020
I recently picked up this sister photo holder in the frame section of our local thrift shop.

I paid $1.50.

It had a shiplap look to it with faux separated boards, and a black mini clip at the top to hold a photo of a sister.

I brushed a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Furniture Paint in Drop Cloth onto the frame.

When dry, I very lightly sanded the edges with 220 grit sandpaper to distress.

I chose the rosemary stencil and pressed it in place on my board.

I swirled the stencil on using Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash and waxed the piece with Dixie Belle Easy Peasy Spray Wax.  Easy Peasy Wax is perfect for small projects like this.

I purchased these rosemary sprigs from the Target Dollar Spot on Black Friday.  They were $1, and boxwood and cedar sprigs were available as well.

After screwing the black mini clip back on the frame, I snipped the thick ends off of two sprigs and attached them on the left side.

I think my rosemary frame is a perfect accent in a farmhouse kitchen!

I purchased the faux rosemary in the bottle at a local floral shop.  I hope you liked this easy project.
