Stenciled Rustic Christmas Crate With Spruce Tips/Tops

November 17, 2019
I found this crate at a local antiques/consignment shop.

I chose it because it didn't have any advertising on it.  I wanted it for outdoor Christmas decor.

(When you click on the bold Amazon, Old Sign Stencils or Dixie Belle Paint Company affiliate links you will be taken to the products I use for this project. If you order it does not change the price or service at all. As an Amazon Affiliate, Old Sign Stencils Affiliate or Dixie Belle Paint Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.)

I chose the *Old Sign Stencils's Christmas Crates stencil  to decorate the old crate.

All prices on the Old Sign Stencils's website are listed in Canadian currency.  A handy currency conversion link is provided for your convenience.

*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.

Old Sign Stencils's Christmas Crates stencil is very similar to its recent Shipping Crates stencil.

I have stenciled on crates with Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black, but to be honest, I really prefer  Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash.  The lettering is a little more faded looking instead of bold black.

I did not seal the paint or wood after stenciling.  Fusion's foundation to finish all in one, will hold up just great for this project.

How To Stencil
If you have never stenciled before, and would love to learn, my advise is to check out Funky Junk Interiors's full information tutorial with photos HERE.

This end of my crate had a small stamp on it, so I moved the stencil over to the left.

This is the other end of the crate.

Metal Pulls/Handles from Hobby Lobby  were added to each end.  I always get my Hobby Lobby Hardware when drawer pulls/knobs are 50% off.  (It seems like at least once per month).

Here is the front of the stenciled crate.

If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I always buy bundles of Spruce Tips/Tops for outdoor decorating.

I usually add the tree tips to my galvanized buckets, complete with soil from summer annual plantings.

But this year, I just stuck them in my crate.

Another project completed for my outdoor covered patio Christmas decor.

If you are following along with the decorating process, the vintage speed skates project was first, followed by the reindeer feed bucket and candy cane coffeepot.

The covered patio Christmas decor is almost done!  Full reveal coming.

Thanks for visiting!
