Taper Candle Metal Reindeer Re-Purposed As Card/Photo Holders

October 13, 2018

I went to a couple of garage sales today, and I hit the thrift shops too!

I purchased four of these heavy metal (made in India) reindeer taper candle holders at a garage sale for $3.

I hardly ever burn taper candles.  I really hardly ever burn candles, so I will be re-purposing the reindeer!

I found these two photo holders at the thrift shop.  I paid $1.70 for both.

Next I pushed a couple of wine corks into the candle holders on the backs of the reindeer.

They fit very snugly.

I twisted and pulled the curled wires out of the photo blocks and stuck them into the corks.

You can make your own photo/card holder curled wires, but I can never get them perfect!

You can glue the corks inside the candle holders, and glue the wires in too, but it's not necessary unless the corks are a little wobbly.

You can display Christmas cards or photos with your reindeer.

I am displaying old Christmas postcards.

Too easy!

You can do this with almost any taper candle holder!

Update:  After I posted this project I found Silver Card Holders on Amazon.
