Garage Cutting Board To Fall Apple Cider Sign

September 16, 2018
 Another cutting board project today!

I first cleaned the cutting board with Krud Kutter Kitchen Degreaser Spray, and a warm damp rag.

Cutting boards can have a greasy build up which is not good for paint adhesion.

This is one of the three cutting boards I picked up and shared in my late June and early July garage sale finds post.

I placed the word cider on the lower right hand corner of the cutting board, and taped it in place with blue painter's tape.

I used Deco ArtChalky Finish Paint in Rouge to stencil "Apple Cider".  I love the "Apple" font.

I added a "smaller leaf "and the "cider mug" from this new Old Sign Stencils fall graphic.  The "5 cents" is from a winter graphics stencil.

I used Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black to stencil on the graphics.

I sealed the stencils with Varathane Water-Based Polyurethane in Satin Finish, and then rubbed on a coat of Minwax Paste Finishing Wax in Natural.

The black iron hook I added was from Hobby Lobby.

  1. I always enjoy your use of Donna's stencils. ;) Very inspiring. I look for cutting boards but haven't found any reasonably priced. I might have to cut a board with my jig saw. lol
Also, I may not always comment yet always enjoy your posts!
    Be well and create on!
