I Bought a "Thingamajig" for my Junk Garden

June 19, 2016
When you are a junk gardener you must not only find great annuals and perennials to fill your gardens, you MUST find great junk to plant flowers in and unusual pieces to place in your garden.

Like this gray wood piece I picked up at No Place Like Home Again locally.  It was weathered, it was unusual, and if was fun.  I purchased it and took it home.

First, I used my *Old Sign Stencils Market Extensions to add "Vintage Market" with black acrylic craft paint.

Then I just added a galvanized bucket of dragon wing begonias, and a couple of rusty gears.  This grouping was much more interesting than a boring wall and foundation.

By the way, I think it's some sort of cobbler's bench but I was unable to find anything that looked just like it on the internet.  What do you think my thingamjig is?

*****Someone on my FB page said it is a draw knife shaving horse.
*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples.
All opinions about these fabulous products are my own.
Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene

  1. It is an interesting piece. Don't know what it is. I agree it looks a lot like a cobbler's bench but then again, it doesn't. LOL

Looks gorgeous with your décor and those beautiful begonias.

  4. Finding those treasures to work in the garden is sometimes more fun than gardening itself. Love this piece and adding words makes it even better. This looks wonderful.
