Fun & Flirty Legs for a Laundry Tub Junk Garden Planter

May 05, 2015

I rescued this table pedestal from My Junkin' Friend Jodi's burn pile.  The base was cracked and one of the legs was split.

Screws were driven into the leg and base on an angle from the sides to stabilized the base.  Of course this wouldn't work for fine furniture repair, but I will touch up the screw heads with a little dab of paint and it will be just fine for my project.

I painted the pedestal with a white exterior semi-gloss enamel, and distressed the edges with sandpaper.

Then a small, square laundry tub (previously used for annuals in my wheelbarrow) was screwed into the square pedestal base top.

I simply placed a plastic hanging basket of double impatiens, from our local Menard's, into the tub!  No need to fill it with dirt, especially since the tub has holes, and dirty water would have dripped onto the white legs.
