Cool Container Gardens

May 26, 2014
Here are some of the pots I planted this season.  I can't wait for them to fill in!

Terracotta Pot Planter from Reclaimed Wood www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
I made this rustic pot holder earlier this spring, here.  A single red geranium is planted in each terracotta pot.

Whiskey Barrel, Buckets, Ice Cream Freezer & Jello Mold Toadstools www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
This corner of my deck has a whiskey barrel with a galvanized bucket inside for more height and vertical interest.  The bucket has red New Guinea Impatiens, and the barrel has sweet potato vine and bacopa.  I made the Jello mold toadstools in an earlier post, here.  The ice cream freezer is planted with a pony tail grass.  I love the movement of grasses in the wind.  The freezer was a dilapidated mess when I got it free from a friend.  See that post, here.

Rescued Tree House Ladder with Tea Kettles www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
Teapots planted with tuberous begonias and a double inpatiens on the rescued tree house ladder.  I have displayed both minnow buckets and terracotta pots on the ladder in previous years.  I make a hole in the bottoms of the containers that slide over a nail in the rung.  No tipping or moving around!

Gas Cans, Funnel, Bucket and Fuchsias www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
Gas cans with an old nozzle and a automotive funnel with on a dowel with a fuchsia, join a whiskey barrel with more fuchsias.  The pail is planted with mimulus in two colors in this shady area of my yard.

Whiskey Barrels & Galvanized Buckets for Height www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
Another double decker whiskey barrel and galvanized bucket combo planted with crimson fountain grass, White Knight alyssum, Sunbini creeping zinnia, a calibrachoa in deep red, and a sweet potato vine.

I so love flower gardening!
