This one was pretty plain and pretty big, perfect for a cloche. Some of these votive holders have etched patterns or scenes on them that don't work out well as cloches, because the scene will be upside down.
I also had this rustic spool.
Here is my re-purposed votive holder/cloche with a vintage Sears Roebuck cloth tape measure that was my Grandma's.
Then I perched a small vintage sewing scissors in the hole on top.
I placed the homemade cloche in a vintage baking pan with a jar of crochet threads, two jars of buttons, and two more spools or bobbins.

Very clever~
ReplyDeleteVery clever, Carlene! Great way to keep track of those elusive measuring tapes and keep your scissors handy, too!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Love the sewing notions under and on it. One of my favorite cloches here was a light fixture.
ReplyDeleteBravo! I know what I'll be looking out for this week at the GW and SA ;-)
ReplyDeletePerfect sewing vignette, for sure!
ReplyDeleteI have some of these votives...still in use at my house! But I also see them when out bargain shopping, too.
Great repurpose. The measuring tape is such a cute idea.

Lovely Carlene! You really have a great design flair.
ReplyDeleteI see those at the thrift all the time, almost bought a couple, had no idea what I would do with them. Great repurpose idea.

Very creative, I love it! I have seen those candle things but hadn't thought about using one as a cloche, next time I see one it's MINE!! LOL!

Really cute use for those little candle holders. They are very easy to find and cheap too. Must pick up some to re-purposes.

I liked this one, especially the measuring tape part but then when you added the red touches and changed it up, I loved it even more!
