Yard of Flowers Tour - Part 1

July 08, 2012
This morning I paid a visit to the "Yard of Flowers".

The Yard of Flowers is owned by my brother and sister in law, (but lovingly designed, planted and maintained by my sister in law.)

Since I snapped over 90 photos, I am breaking the tour into two parts. Part one will be flowers located in the front yard. Part two will be the back, side and patio area.

The first garden is located on the north front corner of the yard. Zinnias, a favorite, are planted among other annuals and perennials in almost all the beds. Here they are planted in front of a patch of Asiatic lilies. Garden art is also dispersed though out the yard.

More of the north corner garden and a distant view of the front porch flower bed. This bed is lined with bricks picked up at an estate sale.

More views of the north corner bed.

Now to the front porch plantings... North side of steps.
How fun is this weathered section of picket fence framing the flower bed?

Also bordered with found or free brick.

More garden decor!

This is the front bed south side of steps.

This laundry tub holds some bright colored geraniums.

Multicolored impatiens planted in front of the taller plants.

More zinnias!

The next bed is my favorite...located on the south front corner.

This is an arbor (home made) with William Baffin roses that are almost finished blooming for the season.

The brick paths are fabulous in this garden. Look at the line of cobalt blue bottles behind the brick edging!

More garden art made by the gardener!

Well that concludes Part One of the "Yard of Flowers" garden tour! I hope you were inspired!
Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene
