Crosses and Bibles Cloche Vignette

July 21, 2012
I have picked up a few more small Bibles and cross necklaces recently to add to my collections.

I have never tried books under my cloche so I decided to try the Bibles. Here's what happened:

I liked the look, so I added an old Rosary to the cloche knob.

Also added a larger Bible that would not fit under the cloche, an oil lamp, an old pair of family eyeglasses, and a famous, vintage portrait of Jesus.

Cloche photography is kind of like framed glass photography, glare everywhere.

A couple of vintage crosses are placed in front.

A new cloche vignette featuring my small Bible collection and three of my crosses.

  1. That is a beautiful display. I want one of those cloches too but they are an arm and a leg nowadays. Maybe someday I'll find one at a sale. I love your Bibles and crosses and the rosary hanging from the top of the cloche really sets it off and of course the picture of Jesus. I remember that picture from when I was little. I wish you'd come to my house! LOL!

  2. Carlene, I love your display of bibles and crosses. What an ingenious idea to dispay the small ones under your cloche. Would you believe that I do not even own a cloche? I guess all bloggers need one!

  4. Beautiful displays. I would love to have a cloche. I saw some lovely ones last year (before Christmas) at Home Goods, great prices as well! I had my mind on my gift list, felt I should stick with it and not be buying for myself. I could just kick myself. I look every time I'm in the store now, but alas, no cloches so far.
After seeing what you have done with your's, Bet I don't let one pass me by again! lol

I LOVE your use of your large glass cloche! It's AWESOME - those old Bibles and religious books have such a neat look to them, too.

And I love your two cross necklaces and your black beaded Rosary - just beautiful!

  14. I love your cloche, it's so lovely with the bibles and the Rosary addition, beautiful! I actually bought a medium size cloche resently thinking my Spanish colonial Virgin Marry would fit inside, but her crown didn't let it and than the others were to big for the statue. HAPPY CLOCHE PARTY!
