Christmas Eve Wrap Up

December 24, 2011
Christmas Eve is here...
The season began in November for me when I got the idea from a friend to spray paint mismatched, porcelain snow village buildings and dust them with artificial snow.   I found these buildings at a local consignment store.

First they looked like this...

Then like this...

And finally like this!

I didn't use the electric cords and chose to put a small flameless tealight in  them to eliminate the cord mess on my bathroom vanity.  I am very pleased with this project!  In fact, this is the first year I decorated my bathroom for Christmas,  because nothing "Christmasy" matched the vintage coral wall tile.

This Christmas Eve...

I LOVE how our tree looks after dark,

And the votives in the oil lamps on the mantel,

And the vintage suitcase on the table,

And a lone grubby flameless candle flickering from greenery in an old crock,

And the votive perched atop a small chair,

And my reproduction wood bowl filled with green and red artifical apples, and glass balls,

And my vintage reindeer and Santa from my childhood and also the Christmas characters purchased when my children were small,
all crafts Homemade Projects ~ Add Yours! {12/27}

And this bird vignette new this year,

And the white distressed chair decked out for Christmas on the front step,

And the glow from a snowman candle on my snowshoe shelf.

Through all my pre-Christmas adventures in decorating, shopping, wrapping and cooking, I pause now tonight on Christmas Eve to remember that "Jesus is the Reason for the Season".

Have a Blessed Christmas!
