My son got a new mailbox and gave me the old black one. It's not super old, but I had an idea I wanted to try.
See what I did with it below.

I pulled out one of my stencils, Old Sign Stencils, Shipping Crate Stamps.
*Old Sign Stencils has provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.
After wiping the mailbox off with an old rag, I tried positioning the stencil on the mailbox.
I started pouncing on some of the stencil graphics using Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk. I ended up pulling out my Funky Junk/Old Sign Stencils Valentine's Crates, and Christmas Crates stencil for additional postage/shipping graphics for my mailbox. All of the Old Sign Stencils coordinate perfectly!
This is an old raisin crate that I purchased at a flea market last summer for $5.
For the crate, I chose the new Pallet Stamps Stencil from Old Sign Stencils. I just got this stencil yesterday.
I swirled on this stencil using Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash.
I love this new stencil! It looks just like pallet/shipping markings.
I then sprayed the bottom of the crate and the sides of the mailbox with Rustoleum Clear Matte Sealer. I applied two coats.
I used the crate as a plant stand, and the mailbox as a planter! Both are so fun with the shipping style stenciling
A red trailing verbena was staged in the bucket, and a Caliope Red Geranium is in the mailbox.
I love Caliope geraniums. They are a combination of zonal and ivy geraniums. Large blossoms and lots of them.
See the mailbox on all sides.
Pin for later.
Thanks for visiting!

Hey Carlene, in some of your garden pics I see you have hung things on your house siding. What product do you use for hanging? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI use nails. Not many. I make everything able to hang on the few nails I have in my steel siding. I usually hang things on wires so I can adjust the height to fit the nail.
DeleteI fully anticipate all mailboxes to promptly disappear from thrift stores because turning it into a flower pot is genius! Adore the enhanced crate riser beside it! Another amazing garden junk upcycle complete!
