My Top Flower/Junk Garden Posts of 2012

December 26, 2012
Baby, it's cold outside! Below zero. No better time to blog about my favorite time of year, summer.  My top flower and junk garden posts of 2012 are as follows:

My Front Yard Flower Border was one of the most viewed flower posts.  If you want to see the entire post again, click here.

My Kitchen Fairy Garden was my first Hometalk success.  To see that post, click here.

The Return to the Kitchen Fairy Garden was equally popular, and featured a new fairy and more mature plants.  To view that post, click here.

My Re-purposed Futon Ends/Arms was a popular post.  If you would like to see that post, click here.

An early season post on a Tool Box Vignette did well for me.  If you want to see more, click here.

My post on a Terra Cotta Pot Edging was popular in May.  Click here to view that post.

My First Container Planting of 2012 with a vintage bottle capper did real well.  Click here to view that post.

I am always on the look out for more garden junk, and for new annuals and perennials that grow in a zone 3 garden.

  1. Love them all but the framed succulent makes me smile the widest. The whole post was sunny. Have not seen sun recently...just rain here.

  2. I know I am the odd woman out, but I love winter, it's my favorite time of the year. AND it's not cold enough here, below 32 at night but above 34 during day. I want snow, snow, snow. Ok, with that said, I love revisiting all you great summer garden projects.

  3. I especially love your kitchen fairy garden posts, very cool

  4. You do garden décor better than anyone I know! I think the futon is my favorite. You are amazing!
Wishing you a happy and blessed new year.

  5. O, Carlene, I really loved seeing all these again...and some I had missed. I couldn't pick a favorite if my life depended on it but I remember the stepladder and it inspired me to do the same with one of ours. Don't remember if I posted about it, tho. Sometimes, my drafts get lost and I find one months later...:)
Thanks for the nice words about my son's house. They just recently bought it and it is like a MOVIE STAR home...just so awesome, I walk around with my mouth wide open. He is very blessed, indeed.

  6. Not sure where you are in Northern Minnesota but we live up here too and yes, it is cold and dreaming of winter!

  7. From one gardener to another, how awesome your yard and collections are. I would love to see it in person and take a long slow stroll so I could look at everything.

  8. A nice post to review when it is so cold and most people are covered with snow. Love all your junkie garden treasures ... displayed so beautifully.

  9. Just seeing the flowers and warm weather kind of gives me hope that spring will again arrive. I actually love winter, but really don't like walking on the ice and snow, I always am afraid I am going to break something! Geez, I must be getting old. I'm just bummed because we have really cold temps but no snow. What the heck!!!! This is Wisconsin, I should have a foot of snow by now! It's a lot of work to shovel, but it is so beautiful when it falls. I love it. Have a warm wonderful day.

  10. You have so many great projects!!
Thanks for the inspiration...I love it!
I am glad you like the ice luminaries, they sure fit our climate right now!

  11. Now I'm dreaming of hot summer nights, sitting outside on my vintage glider, sipping my world famous margaritas! Only 5 months to go!

Love your garden - that fairy garden is so cute and those terra cotta pots lining the bed are fabulous! Here's to the countdown to summer!

  12. Your home is gorgeous and this blog is awesome. Love this post. Thanks for sharing.
