I picked up this vintage Sifo wooden puzzle of the United States yesterday at the thrift shop for $3. It had one puzzle piece missing.
For my puzzle art project, I started by base coating the puzzle tray with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Cream. I used two coats.
I randomly painted the states in neutrals with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White, French Linen, and Cream.
Next I glued the pieces into the tray. I sanded down the edges and the middle of the map too to give it some age.
It was a fun and easy project!
How clever is that!!! I'll be looking for puzzles at garage sales now.
ReplyDeleteCarlene - Cute project! Could use all kinds of wooden puzzles for this.

What a super idea!
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't think, I know I could not do that to that vintage puzzle. Love the old one. But you did a nice job.
ReplyDeleteToo cute and clever. Good thing it was just a tiny state that was missing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a neat idea Carlene! I have that same puzzle. My daughter, Kylee would love it! I need to show her.
