A Stenciled, Buffalo Check, Plaid, Repurposed & Upcycled Christmas Tour 2017

December 22, 2017

Rustic Christmas Vignettes #upcycle #repurpose #printertray #cuttingboard #drawer #buffalocheck
I don't do a full blown Christmas tour.  None of my children are in town, and I'm not a big entertainer so I have abbreviated holiday decorations.  They come for about 4 days.

I decorate my kitchen, my living room and my covered patio.  AND I have a small tree now so I never have to remove living room furniture to put up a large tree.

I will share my recent and some not so recent projects that I used in my 2017 Christmas decor.

Starting in my kitchen, on the cutting board wall on the left, is my cutting board Christmas card holder.   Next my buffalo check cutting board Christmas decor piece, and at the right my Goodwill faux printer tray Christmas sign.  (it's a Mancala board.)

My cutting board wall hanger post is here.  During non-holiday times, this board is full of just cutting boards.

I am in love with the red folding metal thrift shop chair that I stenciled with buffalo checks and a deer, and I also stenciled the Minnesota Pride sign.

I have to confess.  The lower left corner of the photo has been altered to remove my kitchen TV set.  I hate showing it in my photos.

This small Christmas vignette is between my kitchen door and a kitchen window.  The snowflake was from Kmart, and I gave it a makeover.

The cutting board shelf project is here.  And the board is a repurposed drawer front project here.

My grandma and grandpa are the older winter couple in the photo.

This is a corner area of my kitchen, and the door to my laundry room.

My thrift shop spice rack shelf and paper towel holder plaid Christmas shelf are displayed on an over the sink thrift shop upcyled shelf.

Thrifted Frame Christmas Tree Card Holder #chickenwire #frameideas
In my living room, on the door from the foyer, is my thrifted frame tree card holder with chicken wire.

On the left are my thrifted sconce wall book shelves now holding books and trees!

I don't put up a large tree anymore.  This small one fits on my hearth in a crate filled with pine cones and Christmas ball ornaments.  The crate is an NRA (NATIONAL RECOVERY ADMINISTRATION raisin crate).

My Minnesota USA floor puzzle piece ornament is proudly displayed on this tree.

Here is one of my favorite family heirlooms, Grandma's vintage Husvennen sewing machine.  On top are my recipe stand Christmas repurpose and my framed Scrabble tile tree.

Rustic Christmas Crate Centerpiece
On my coffee table is a vintage crate with chippy dark green paint with a stoneware jug, snowflakes, greenery and a reproduction vintage Santa figurine.

Rustic Christmas Coca-Cola Crate Vignette
A vintage Coca-Cola crate with a small tree, greenery, deer, and small light post serves as a dining table centerpiece.

Crate centerpieces on the dining table or coffee table are not only fun and interesting but practical.  The whole vignette can be removed in one motion!

Ugly thrift shop tree upcycle #stencil #oldsignstencils
The ugly upcycled thrift shop tree is sitting atop my desk hutch.

Vintage Home Interiors Nativity Figurines #Infantofprague #vintagesilverglobe #vintageglove #biblecollection
On top of my grandma's china cabinet is my almost vintage Home Interiors white Nativity figurines, my small Bible collection, rosary, vintage globe and the Infant of Prague.

You Cut Tree Farm #stencils #oldsignstencils #outdoordecor #junkdecor #rusticChristmas
Outside on the covered patio is my You Cut tree farm themed vignette.

thrift shop upcycled letter sign was added to the vignette on the far left!

I hope you enjoyed the tour!  Merry Christmas!

  10. Your projects and displays are wonderful. I too hate to move my furniture to put up a tree. Maybe when grandchildren come I will again.

  11. It's all so fun Carlene! You have an amazingly creative mind. Two of my favorites are the chair and the rolling pin tree. I have an orange folding chair. May have to checker it for fall next year. Love your tree farm! I did my front porch with that theme this year as well. It was so fun to create! Merry Christmas!!
