Easy & Fun Special Date Signs

I put away most of my craft supplies last week to straighten up the house for the Easter holiday weekend, but I did manage to make some easy birth date signs for my family.
I started my signs with three boards cut from a 1" x 6" in 12" lengths. I then base coated the gray sign with black and the pink and red ones with white paint.
After painting one of the boards with two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, I distressed the board a bit with 220 grit sand paper. Then I used blue painter's tape to divide the board in to three 4 inch areas. I also measured vertically to space the numbers equally.
I used a Deco Art Americana Old World number stencil for the numbers. I love this font.
I sealed the signs with Deco Art Americana Clear Wax.
This sign was top coated with an acrylic fire engine red paint.
This sign was top coated with a fuchsia acrylic paint. The numbers were stenciled on with light ivory acrylic paint.
A single saw tooth hanger was added to the back for hanging. This sign would also work for wedding dates or other special occasions too!
