I am not sure of the original use for this board.  I purchased it at the thrift shop for 59 cents.  It has a shiny polyurethane coating so I don't think it was a cutting board.  It also had a leather string.

Thrift Shop Makeover Funnel Twine Holder

I purchased this sort of dated, wooden candle holder at a thrift shop for $2.99. First, I removed the candle cup with a screwdriver.  I painted the candle holder with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Old White", and wet distressed the piece.
