New Additions To My Re-Purposed Photo Gallery Wall

September 13, 2015
I picked up a vintage safety vegetable grater that was still in the package at a garage sale on Saturday for 50 cents.

This became an easy photo display piece.  This is a copy of an original photo of my Grandma and her sisters.  My Grandma is little girl seated in front.

First I cut about 1 1/2" off the top of the photo.  I then glued the bottom of the photo to card stock with a glue stick.  I folded my 1 1/2" top piece of photo and clipped the corners so it would be shaped like a tag.  Then I taped 1 1/2" piece to the top of the photo and cut the card stock with my pattern.

I cut the hole protector piece of a purchased tag and glued it to the top of my tag/photo.  I punched the center with a hole punch and attached the photo with a torn piece of muslin.

This is photo gallery wall addition one for today.

My next re-purposed photo holder for my gallery wall started with a wooden and wire trouser hanger.  I painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Duck Egg Blue", distressed it a bit and coated it with a coat of clear wax.

This photo of my great grandparents' wedding has always been mounted to the center of a thick piece of photography card stock.  I added one of my Tim Holtz metal tags to this project.  This one says "Salvaged".  The tags are available at craft shops or on Amazon.
