Chalk Painted Vinyl Tiles

August 08, 2015

My husband is gone on a fishing trip for a couple of days.  I hate this old floor in our foyer.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Old White" to the rescue.  I have to brush it on as the "grout" lines are deep.

Coat number two!

A little wet distressing on the fake bricks with a wet rag.  There is an Annie Sloan Floor Lacquer that is used for wood and cement floors but I am going to get it for this vinyl floor.

I hope the distressing will distract from any scratches the floor may get, AND I think it makes the floor look like real bricks.

The truth be told I want to paint all of the wood trim white too but this fishing trip is not that long!

To be continued...

Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene

  2. I like it! When I was married, I'd do the same thing. Couldn't wait till he actually got out the door so I could start.

Have you followed up on this floor? I'm so anxious to see how it turned out! You know... I glued paper down to my floor!
and got my hubby in on the action too! ;)
