What I Bought With My Birthday Money

July 25, 2015

What do you buy with your birthday money?  Clothes?  A manicure or pedicure?  A night out?  Not me, I buy old gears.

And an old screen door.

These items were quickly turned into a new junk garden vignette.

I also bought a teardrop shaped crystal prism.  I have seen these many times "dripping" off an old pump on Pinterest.  It's a fun idea.

I also purchased this old hanger marked "Wreary".  I couldn't find any information on that name.

And this vintage folding hanger too.  These two were a little more unique than some of my previous wall hangers.

I added them to one of my "hanger" walls in my small 3/4 bathroom.

That was how I spent my birthday money; a screen door, 2 gears, a teardrop prism, and 2 vintage hangers!  And I'm happy!

Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene

  1. I haven't seen the crystal dripping off the old faucet, so I pinned your photos. Cute, clever idea!

  4. Exactly what I would buy! If I get birthday money, it goes right into my wallet in a special junk fund.

  5. Wow, you did great with your birthday money finds! Pedi, manis,... only last a week or so, but you got something that you can enjoy for much longer! Love the gears! Happy Birthday! :)

  7. Carlene, happy belated birthday! GREAT finds and a wonderful vignette. :) Seeing the screen door reminds me of one my favorite sounds... the squeak of a wooden screen door opening and the slam of it closing. :))) Enjoy your wonderful finds!! ~ Christina

  13. I love your purchases! You and I are alike in that we would rather buy some "junk" than clothes, manicures, etc. for ourselves. Happy belated Birthday!!!
