YARD OF FLOWERS 2015 Garden Tour

July 30, 2015
The YARD OF FLOWERS is owned by my brother and sister in law, Kris.  Kris has the green thumb, the awesome craft skills and the eye for junk.  My brother may help out from time to time, but I'm pretty sure the YARD OF FLOWERS is all Kris.  Let's start today's tour by the front porch and a gorgeous tub of calibrachoa, climbing clematis and annual marigolds

The Organized Clutter 2015 Junk Garden Tour

July 26, 2015
Let's start the tour today at the front door, on the covered patio.  There were early spring changes to my Adirondack chairs this year.  Besides new seat cushions from Menards, m y chairs were given an authentically chippy white finish with Fusion Mineral Paint.   I also painted the  sewing machine drawers   on the Red Wing crock table.  Lastly, I painted a thrift shop iron table , added it to the center of a small flower garden, and set a bucket of geraniums on top to add vertical interest to a small garden.

The Prettiest Window Box in Town 2015

July 18, 2015
Every year my sister in law, Kris, puts together a gorgeous window box in front of her office building.    This year's window box features a wonderful old time annual, the Nasturium.

Adding Vertical Interest In A Small Garden

July 11, 2015
This small flower bed is planted with red and pink geraniums, dusty miller and alyssum with two spikes in the center for height.  The little garden is doing well but even with the spikes has little vertical interest.  Taller plants won't work in a small garden, but an item in my shed will.

MORE Beautiful Flowers in Junky Containers

July 10, 2015
I hope you were saw my post yesterday on  Beautiful Flowers in Junky Containers.   Today I am sharing more beautiful flowers in junky containers at my sister in law's house! Here a simple marigold thrives in a bucket inside a gym basket, and for added fun Kris added "Custom" old vehicle trim and a water main valve painted blue.

Rusty Industrial Junk Garden Decor

July 05, 2015
My junk garden is heavy on old farm junk.  I don't find very much industrial junk, but my sister in law, Kris, has some fun industrial junk in her garden. An old rusty rim encircles a perennial cranesbill in the garden.

Rustic Garden Wheelbarrow 2015

July 04, 2015
My old wooden, chippy wheelbarrow is my favorite junk garden piece ever!  I purchased it over 15 years ago at a garage sale for $15.  I seal it with clear Thompson's Water Seal to preserve the chippy weathered wood as long as I can.

Junk Garden Vignettes in the Corner of the Deck

July 02, 2015
The idea for the framed lobelia is from 2013.   In 2013, the frame hung in a old dying birch tree that was cut down in May of this year.
