My Junkin' Friend Jodi  is always up-cycling furniture for her shop, No Place Like Home Again, so she always has old drawer pulls and hardware on hand.  Old metal drawer pulls are like mini works of art, so why not frame them?

Here are the three drawer pulls before paint.

This is an old metal, painted black, oval frame.

And, this is an old wooden shingle.

First I painted the frame and drawer pulls with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and waxed them.  I distressed the frame but not the drawer pulls.  The wooden shingle was cut to fit the frame.  The frame had metal tabs to hold the shingle in place.  The drawer pulls were then screwed into the shingle. Pretty easy.

  1. What a great idea! I think I have a few drawer handles I could use in this way. Maybe that will be my project for next weekend.

  2. Super cute Carlene! I agree that they are like works of art. I recently found a pretty frame at our local thrift and painted it white as well. Been wondering what to put it in. Looks like you've found a solution for me. Think I've used most of my pulls so I'll be keeping my eyes out for some. Thanks for the great idea!

  7. Love this idea Carlene! I have so many handles stashed out in my garage that could be transformed like this.
