A Succulent & Terracotta Miniature Garden On A Weathered Garden Stool

Weathered Garden Junk Stool www.organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com
First, I found the perfect weathered wood and metal stool at a local antique shop for $20.  It was love at first sight!

I purchased this little bench for $1 at a local thrift shop.

I painted it with terracotta colored acrylic paint.  Then sealed it with a spray matte sealer.

I used an aluminum roaster cover for a garden container. These are broken miniature pot halves pressed into the soil with a succulent sedum ground cover that does not get very tall.  I pressed dollar store stones around the pots.

I pressed stones into this side of the roaster cover as well and planted three clumps of hen and chicks (Sempervivum) in miniature terracotta pots.  One is covered with a repurposed glass votive as a cloche.  I saw the golf tee and marble gazing ball idea on Pinterest and used it here.  E6000 held the marble in place.

I purchased the twig fence, arbor, and stepping stones, all for $23.  I used pea gravel between the arbor and bench along with the stepping stones.

Have you ever made a fairy or miniature garden?  If you haven't you should give it a try.  It's fun.

Terracotta is perfect with gray, weathered wood!

As you can see with the extra long winter and low spring temps, we have no leaves or green grass yet.  Thank goodness for these hardy perennial succulents so I could play in the dirt today!
