Looking for Vintage Treasures

September 24, 2013
I think I have mentioned a lot on my blog that I visit thrift shops, and consignment/antique shops on my lunch hour every day that I work.

This week I found the following:

Vintage gesso frame

Vintage Gesso Frame
This vintage frame was $11.25.  I love it as it is.

Spaniel pitcher
I love dog collectibles.  I started with pugs only, but have branched out to include other breeds.  This pitcher is from Holiday House, Manitoc, Wisconsin.  $2.

Vintage Shiny Gold Candle Salt and Pepper Shakers
These are bright gold candlestick and candle salt and pepper shakers with cork stoppers. $3, unmarked.  Thinking about Christmas vignettes.

Vintage Metal Souvenirs Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty
These vintage Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty metal thermometers are, I think from the 1960's.  I paid a whole dollar for each of them, and I may put them on my desk as decor.

Enamelware Funnel
This little white enamelware funnel that I purchased for $7.50 has already appeared on my blog, in a candy corn repurpose with other funnels.

Funnels repurposed as candy corn

vintage potato masher
And this square potato masher that has already been repurposed too.

Potato Masher re-purposed as a wire cloche
As a wire cloche.

Enamelware Vintage colander
And finally a graniteware colander for $7.50.  Colanders and funnels are becoming a new collectible for me!

  8. Sweet finds. I still use a wire potato masher on occasion. Guess that makes me vintage. :)

  10. Love the frame Carlene. You will have a lot of fun decorating with that. That masher is the neatest one I have ever seen. Fun re-purpose.

  11. Carlene, love the frame! What a great find. I know you will create some magic with the gold candles. I love going to thrift shops, but don't get there that often. How fun that you have one so close. I love the candy corn funnels! I picked up a bunch of funnels over the summer. I may need to copy. Hope you don't mind. As always, I will give you credit.
    hugs,
    Jann

  12. Forgot to mention, I have three pieces of granite ware. One is a colander that I have had for years. I have not gotten it out lately. Need to do that! Thanks for the reminder.
    hugs, (again, lol)
