Master Bedroom Reveal

April 01, 2013
I have shared a couple of posts from our bedroom recently, so you know that we have a hunting and fishing theme in the master.

Come on in and see the whole room...

This photo is taken from the doorway into the bedroom.  You can see the painted chest and our double closets.

To the left, on a small vintage 3 drawer chest is an antique display case with my husband's old lures (at least, some of them!)

Vintage duck figurines and planters on the chest.  The bedroom set was a 1970's Early American honey pine finish.  I painted it Heirloom White by Rusteoleum over 15 years ago.  I added three different types of wood knobs or pulls painted Hunter Green.  The walls are Pratt and Lambert in Pinecone Tan.

Next to the white chest is a reproduction crock with vintage decoy and a vintage cast iron frog.  The frog is marked "Japan".

Vintage rod and reels on a stand between the closet doors.

A fly fishing rod over the closet doors used to belong to my Grandpa.

My husband's gun cabinet is in the corner.

The cannonball bed has a fishing themed quilt and white shams edged with a little lace.  The bedskirt and valances are green buffalo checks.

Vintage picnic baskets and thermoses.

We have a "vintage non-flat screen tv set" on a "home made" entertainment unit painted to match the bedroom set.

Old photos of the kids and a framed vintage Fisherman's Creed are also painted Hunter Green. The picture rail is an old Home Interiors dark wood shelf that I painted to match the bedroom furniture.  Guess who is Grumpy?

This little tin wind up fish toy was made in US Zone - Germany.

My husband caught this 9 lb walleye in 1990.

Vintage reels,

and duck decoys decorate the dresser,

Along with some vintage planters.

So that's our master bedroom!

Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene

  2. Well, you know I'll be pinning the picnic baskets. Love those. That wind up fish is pretty neat too, but then again, the whole room is great!

  4. Carlene, Your husband must feel so special that you have featured his favorites in the master bedroom! The fishing rods and lures reminded me of my Granddad's collection. Loved looking at them growing up.
Thanks for a peek inside your beautiful home.

I like the masculine outdoors feel, with the softness the white painted furniture gives the room.
    A nice mix!

  8. Oh my! Sam would love it if I did our bedroom in a theme like this! It's so crisp and clean and not overpoweringly masculine! I don't know how you did it girl, but I really like it! (Love the grumpy sign!) Also, I'm going to start calling my TV vintage!! If husbands go on pinterest, every husband in the world is saying, "honey..come look at this"! I'm pinning it!
