A Vintage Christmas Photo Card

July 20, 2012
I have been busy planning some posts for the "Christmas In July" linky parties coming up next week.

In my preparations, I came across this vintage card with a photo of my Grandma's niece and family. I think this photo is from the late 1950's or early 1960's. It is a "Photocraft" Roanoke, VA, 2203-V Litho in USA card.

I want to point out that this relative is on my DAD'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY! This is not the "ORGANIZED CLUTTER" side of the family, which is my MOM's SIDE. This was definitely a contemporary, minimalist style not practiced by my Mom's side of the family.

All kidding aside, don't you love the clothing and furniture?

I need my "Organized Clutter". See you next week for the "Christmas in July" parties!

  2. You know what I really love in this picture? The ash tray! Whether you smoked or not, you had those big honkin ash trays all over the house! I remember that even my doctor's office had an ash tray in every exam room-lol! Thanks for sharing!

  3. That is such a treasure! Isn't it great to have an old picture like that? They definitely had a modern, minimalist style. No doubt about it! lol

  4. What a lovely old photo. I have photo's like that from my own time, yes I am that old LOL that was what people were living like, there was not much furniture like we have these days, nothing minimalistic that was what it was at least in my country. And that's how you got on a photo, no jeans but Sunday clothes and hear neatly combed. LOL can't think of that now. I am your newest follower. Have a nice weekend

  5. Look at everything that photo shows: the ashtry, art work, light fixture, and are those albums stacked on the table? I live in Roanoke, VA now so that part of the story caught my eye.
